In The Historic Kit Carson Museum Patio Taos, NM For more than 50 years, the Carson House Shop has been a favorite stop in Taos for both visitors and locals. Located next to the historic Kit Carson Home and Museum, a half-block east of Taos Plaza, the shop features quality Native American jewelry, pottery, storytellers, kachinas, sandpaintings and other artwork, as well as Southwestern gifts and handcrafted items to fit any budget. The Christmas Room, recommended by New Mexico Magazine, Travel and Leisure Magazine and other publications, features ornaments and nativities by Taos-area artists. The Carson House Shop is also home to the Valerie Graves Fine Art Gallery, featuring paintings, prints, posters, cards and ornaments by one of Taos' best-known artists. A painter in Taos more than 40 years, Valerie was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Taos Fall Arts Festival.
